Who’s In There?
Posted by Moose on February 13th, 2010. Filed under: Random Lists. My plan for Saturday was to go on a day trip – somewhere along the coast where I could walk on the beach and then stare at the sea and drink wine. If I was feeling really plucky, I could strike up a conversation with a stranger, one from which I would quickly retreat but would still count because DAMN IT, WE HAD A MOMENT. But then I woke up and couldn’t swallow without wincing and my muscles ached in a way that bodes ill for either my health or my devotion to yoga with neon pants-clad teachers. After that the excuses started multiplying, like flies queueing up for a particularly attractive mulch heap: It’s gray and rainy, it’s a long Valentine’s Day weekend and so the price of wine just tripled, it would be smarter to stay home and nurse my throat with the Hot Toddy o’ Plague Prevention (juice of a lemon, two tablespoons of honey, two Aspirin, grated ginger, brandy, and boiling water).
So it’s Saturday morning and instead of driving somewhere scenic, I’m sitting in bed watching Sex and the City DVDs and knitting a striped hat. I’m watching the episode where Carrie unloads all over a potential boyfriend about the disaster of her last breakup and, after he scurries away so fast his motorcycle leaves skid marks on the pavement, she tells her friends that she was “emotionally slutty.”
As I got up to make more tea and lament my lack of fresh ginger for the Hot Toddy o’ Plague Prevention, I realized something. I am emotionally slutty. If someone asks a question, I don’t hold back. I have been known to tell people things on first dates that most people wouldn’t admit until year three of therapy. Might not be the savviest dating policy but, like everything else, it’s a good litmus test. The right person will be interested, or at least forgiving, and the wrong ones flee that much faster. (Flee, wrong people! Flee! I DO NOT HAVE TIME FOR YOU.)
Last night I went to see Oedipus el Rey with a blog reader from my List o’ Awesome People Who Will Come To The Theater With Me When I Have Press Tickets (hi, Karen!) and afterward, she asked a really good question, “What’s it like for you to meet a blog reader this way – someone who knows something about you, when you don’t know anything about them?” My answer stumbled from “well” and “um” to the reign of King Tut, but here’s the gist: With everyone you meet, there’s going to be some common ground and something to talk about, even if it’s just the fact that you both breathe air and goodness the oxygen content is quite nice today, isn’t it? I’ve met so many great people via blogging that I just don’t worry about it any more. If nothing else, I figure that if you read my blog once and then come back to read it again, we probably have something more than oxygen in common. And you are far less likely than the rest of the population to get that look in your eye that some of my blind dates get when I wax eloquent (or not so, depending on how many sidecars were involved) on the brilliance of Greg the Bunny or the joy of wearing sequined devil horns on a day that is patently not Halloween. That look that says, “Who is this woman and how soon can I leave?”
But it was a good point and something I often think when putting up a post. Who reads this stuff? Who are you, people on my computer screen who leave nice comments? So here are some questions for you, should you feel inclined to share a little something, because I am immensely curious about who you are and what you do with your time:
What’s the weirdest thing you ever wore outside your house? (Or inside your house for that matter.)
What do you think is the most alarmingly awesome show on TV?
Where do you live?
What do you do? Your job if you like it, your hobby if you prefer that.
Do you have kids?
Are you single, married, in some long drawn-out quasi-relationship (oh how I’ve been there) or wondering if you can legally marry your cat?
What’s your favorite book?
Who’s one of the people who inspired you to become the person you are?
It’s not a homework assignment, so you can answer one, three, or none. Or all of them plus a few you invent if, like me, you’re home killing time before your next nap. Or just stare at your computer and think the answers really hard – and we can see how clairvoyant I am. If you happen to have any questions for me, feel free to ask. I’ll post answers if anything comes up.
In the meantime, who are you? LAY IT ON ME. Emotional sluttiness welcome, but not required.

I live near Boston! Close enough to take public transportation to work, but not in the city proper or anything.
A Wrinkle In Time and A Wind In The Door are my favorite books, and I don’t give a damn that they’re kids’ books. I always find them incredibly comforting.
I’m dating a guy who I’ve known for nearly a decade (but have only been dating him for a couple years.) He has a four-year-old kid. It’s weird but awesome. I think I will keep him. I don’t have kids myself, but I have an excellent relationship with his daughter.
I don’t get cable and rarely watch TV, but I started watching Battlestar Galactica (the new one, yes) and think it’s awesome. I have a problem wherein I can only watch TV if someone else is around. Otherwise it just never crosses my mind. So I need someone to help me watch more Battlestar.
I’m a librarian. In my free time I do a lot of sewing and cooking. I am less stereotypically female than all that makes me sound. I think so, anyway. Perhaps I’m not the person to ask.
I’m going to be in SF in early March, visiting a non-bloggy friend. Possibly this is weird, but you seem like the friendly type, so: wanna meet up for coffee or something? We are into Cheap Adventures because my friend is unemployed and I am a librarian (people don’t go into librarianship for the big money), so as a secondary question: what sort of Cheap (or Free) Adventures do you suggest in SF?

Love your blog and writing talent!
A bodyshaper (in the house) that I was trying to break in (unsuccessfully) along with a pair of heels I was also trying to break in. Not a good look for me.
I totally love “How It’s Made” on the Science Channel. Embarrassing.
I’m an East Coaster living in MD, halfway between Baltimore and Annapolis, but I’m desperately trying to move to FL.
I’m a… snoooooooooooze…IT Project Manager in Financial Services. I.E. a cubicle drone. Think “Office Space”. Yeaaaaaaah.
No kids. No urge. Plus, I’m 37. Love my nephew to death. Have a dog. And some plants. Never wanted to be pregnant, and thankfully, I can pretend the sun has set on my fertility. WOOT.
Yeah, single, in case you couldn’t have guessed. I am the freak magnet, so haven’t been on a date in a few months. Maryland basically sucks ass when it comes to available dudes. I actually like long distance relationships (long distance like NYC, not like overseas!). I’m weird. I know this.
No favorite book. I read a ton of magazines, though. Travel, news, food, wine. I can barely keep up with those. Ok, I can’t keep up at all.
My best friend inspires me. She died when we were 23 after complications from experimental surgery (long story short, she had meningitis in 7th grade, and survived…surgery to correct a side effect at 23). She could not eat or drink (lost her ability to swallow after being sick), but that didn’t stop her from coming out to restaurants with us and just getting back to her normal life. She rocked! My tattoo on my ankle is not to memorialize her, but to honor her spirit, courage and strength and remember that she’s looking out for me.
Happy Weekend!

Hi! I’m Rachel and my location is a closely guarded secret due to the powers of Internet search engines and my paranoia, so we’ll just call it “Mythaca,” New York. I am sometimes a French teacher. And I am single. Oh, so single.

Hi Amber! Thanks for the great night of theater (again)! I really enjoyed it and was delighted to find that you seem to be pretty much the same in-person as you are on the (digital) page. That assessment, of course, is only after a couple of hours (most of it spent sitting in focused silence) but still. It was an enjoyable way to spend a Friday night.
So, now that I’m not a total stranger, here are my (emo-slut) answers to your queries.
What’s the weirdest thing you ever wore outside your house? (Or inside your house for that matter.) ~~ My old green girl scouts uniform from when I was in fourth grade paired with a pair of knee high turquoise argyle socks. Keep in mind I was a sophomore in high school and had failed (yet again) to plan a Halloween costume for myself. I saw it hanging there in the back of my closet and decided to see if it still fit (barely) Thank goodness my keister and thighs were in much better shape back then. I put my hair up in pigtails to finish the look and headed out for a night of fun with my friends.
What do you think is the most alarmingly awesome show on TV? ~~ It’s not on anymore but I’d say Battlestar Galactica that was redone by SciFi (now SyFy, which I don’t get but that’s a different topic for another day). I had visions of it being horrendously cheesy like the original but they did a fantastic job. I’m sure many people thought it would just be a nerdy sci-fi show but it was so much better than that. The story, the drama, the characters…they were all very well done and I’m bummed that it’s over.
Where do you live? ~~ I live in Oakley (Podunk) but I grew up in Concord (I know you didn’t ask that but I really consider myself a Concordian since I still spend a good chunk of my time out there).
What do you do? Your job if you like it, your hobby if you prefer that. ~~ I’m a self-employed sucker (I own a custom picture framing business). I love the work itself but hate the day-to-day business stuff. The nice thing is when it’s slow, I can get online and read blogs without the boss getting her panties in a bunch.
Do you have kids? ~~ Not of the human variety. I do have four cats that are my babies but I know that doesn’t count (too bad. I could use the tax break of having four dependents).
Are you single, married, in some long drawn-out quasi-relationship (oh how I’ve been there) or wondering if you can legally marry your cat? ~~ Married, almost 13 years. And as far as marrying my cat(s), I’d rather count them as kids (see above answer).
What’s your favorite book? ~~ Hm, I don’t read nearly as much as I should. I’m trying to remember the last book I read. Since I can’t remember much off the top of my head, I’d say Ghost Rider by Neil Peart (drummer for the band RUSH). He writes most of the lyrics for the group and so his writing is very similar. It has a lyrical rhythm to it and the words just sort of weave in and out of each other, moving up and down as I read them (much like music notes on a page).
Who’s one of the people who inspired you to become the person you are? ~~ My brother. It’s not so much from inspiration though because our relationship is tenuous at best, but a lot of what he has done in/with his life has had a significant effect on how I’ve evolved over the years.
Oh boy. I know you said “share a little something” and I gave you a novella. Oh well. At least you can’t ride off on a motorcycle or run away. (Although you can delete the comment which is pretty much the same thing).
Hope you feel better!

Hi! I live in northeastern Pennsylvania. I’m a freelance writer and copy editor, and in my spare time I play the acoustic guitar. I used to love yoga until I had spinal fusion surgery about eight months ago and can no longer really bend my back at all. (So, weirdest thing I wore in and out of the house? Full-torso back brace.) I’m married and don’t have any kids. One of the most alarmingly awesome shows on TV? True Blood. And my favorite book would have to be (somewhat embarrassingly) The Time Traveler’s Wife.
Love your blog! I appreciate that you’ve emailed me a few times after I’ve commented in the past — I always appreciate bloggers who take the time to do that. Now I just need to work on commenting more.
February 13th, 2010 at 3:50 pm
Hi! You know me already, and in fact you’ve been to where I live. Twice.
But I can’t resist the request to tell you my favorite book. I have several. Love The Things They Carried by Tim O’Brien. The English Patient, by Michael Ondaatje. To Kill a Mockingbird. And The Time Traveler’s Wife has made me bawl (ahem) each and every one of the 5 times I’ve read it
Hope you feel better soon. D is sick, too, so I have been feeding him hot toddies and hot n sour soup. Never thought of putting ginger in the toddy, though. I’ll have to try that! (Though I prefer my toddies with bourbon — surprise, surprise — and D. likes his with rum, instead of brandy!)
February 13th, 2010 at 5:01 pm
I still cringe thinking about the time I wore these indescribable pajamas to a “Dress Up Day” when I was a senior in high school. Picture a full body flannel jump suit that buttoned down the fruit and featured four different plaid panels. WHY IN GODS NAME DID I WEAR THOSE TO SCHOOL? In my defense, they were J. Crew. And it was 1994 and I wore them with Docs. BUT STILL.
PS Hope you feel better and you get to stare at the sea next weekend
February 13th, 2010 at 5:02 pm
buttoned down the FRONT. Not fruit. Sigh.
Time to go back to bed, I think.
February 13th, 2010 at 5:24 pm
I guess this is as good a time as any to delurk, too, yes?

February 13th, 2010 at 5:27 pm
I think pajamas are the craziest things I’ve ever worn out of the house. I think they were probably the same ones that Elizabeth is talking about. I live in a suburb of Atlanta that’s more like a small town, I’m single and childless and usually pretty ok with that. As I told my boss this week when he made some snide comment about the dog bed in my back seat being a turn off and then said I must be looking for someone who wouldn’t find that a turn off – “I don’t really feel like I’m looking for anyone.” I love Mad Men, the Amazing Race, and since HBO is re-running it right now I can get away with Band of Brothers. Favorite book is probably still the Poisonwood Bible. Did I cover it all? Oh, I’m a lawyer, but please don’t hold it against me.
I hang around here as much for those posts that hit me right between my eyes as for the crazy laughs that abound.
February 13th, 2010 at 5:59 pm
I LOVED Greg the Bunny. I have a coffee mug with “You spotty bastard!!”
Married, 3 kids under the age of 4, northern NJ, used to be a law prof but am now a stay at home mom. Don’t have a particular favorite book but will read anything by Amanda Quick. (Yes, I read mostly romance novels and young adult lit. I like happy endings.) And my brother in law just moved to SF two weeks ago.
February 13th, 2010 at 7:45 pm
Hiiii, it’s me
I think that I, too, suffer from the emotional sluttiness. Ah, well. I like to think of it as part of my charm. You definitely possess the charm, my friend. Hope you’re feeling better soon.
February 13th, 2010 at 11:46 pm
What’s the weirdest thing you ever wore outside your house? (Or inside your house for that matter.)
I once wore a T-shirt to work that I had hand-printed the “word” suttle on. It was my Halloween costume. I was a typo.
What do you think is the most alarmingly awesome show on TV? BATTLESTAR GALACTICA. Can I just say how less lonely I feel because Amanda and Karen agree? And I’m really not into Sci-Fi. It’s just that good.
Where do you live? On Sesame Street, in San Francisco, the Republic of California, in the Free World.
What do you do? Your job if you like it, your hobby if you prefer that.
Write. Always, always write.
Do you have kids? Um… does my Chihuahua count?
Are you single, married, in some long drawn-out quasi-relationship (oh how I’ve been there) or wondering if you can legally marry your cat?
Oui.
What’s your favorite book? THE GREAT GATSBY. (That’s capped for publishing shorhand = ital. However, I do feel like shouting it too.)
Who’s one of the people who inspired you to become the person you are? Wow. Not sure.
(Being slutty is fun!)
February 14th, 2010 at 1:08 am
Well, I’m not much of a mystery reader to you, but I’ll play ‘cuz I shouldn’t have lurked at your other readers’ comments. I mean, I’m curious how weird they are!
Hmmmm, ever, that butterfly bikini? It wasn’t really my best color
But no, I think it was the purple shirt under purple sweater, purple stirrup tights with purple socks poking out from under and purple/grey hiking boots, and not one of them was the same shade of purple as anything else. This was while camping at Brannon Island on Memorial Day weekend with pouring rain. AND THEN I find out the Antioch Times came by to ask us why we were the only crazy people who hadn’t gone home… and they took a pic of me wearing that, and it ended up on the cover!! I am ever so grateful for newspapers and conservative use of color, I looked like a grape, but at least they’d adjusted so it was all the same shade. I think generally I’ll embarrass myself in the clothing dept so long as there are no pics to document it.
X-Files. Still rather partial.
San Jose
What do you do? Your job if you like it, your hobby if you prefer that. Unemployed! Was a teacher. Now a couch potato/ procrastinator grad student.
No kids.
Married, but I love that cat.
Their Eyes Were Watching God. 2nd fav, Power of One.
You, prolly, besides my mom. I think I learned to appreciate the finer things in life by trying them out with you. Tea parties, floating an afternoon away, eating, “bookworming,” yep, some formative experiences.
February 14th, 2010 at 10:09 am
What fun!
What’s the weirdest thing you ever wore outside your house? (Or inside your house for that matter.)
I wore pyjama bottoms to work one day. I’d hurt my back and I couldn’t wear jeans.
What do you think is the most alarmingly awesome show on TV?
I’m enjoying Nurse Jackie at the moment. Always love Simpsons & South Park.
Where do you live?
Cambridge, UK
What do you do? Your job if you like it, your hobby if you prefer that.
Knitting, singing, learn sign language, cooking, baking, reading, walking, cycling, computing.
Do you have kids?
No.
Are you single, married, in some long drawn-out quasi-relationship (oh how I’ve been there) or wondering if you can legally marry your cat?
I’m polyamrous. I have a wife of 10 years and a boyfriend of seven.
What’s your favorite book?
If I had to pick one, I know this much is true by Wally Lamb. If I could pick more, I’d add One Hit Wonder by Lisa Jewell and Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K Hamilton.
Who’s one of the people who inspired you to become the person you are?
My older sister, I worked very hard to not be like her. Note that my oldest sister is one of my most favourite people in the world, so they’re not to be confused.
February 14th, 2010 at 11:45 am
Who are you and what do you do with your time?
I’m Meggan, and I spend most of my time at work making websites. If I’m not doing that, I’m probably on my couch watching something on Netflix Instant Queue with the Xbox.
What do you think is the most alarmingly awesome show on TV?
Well, I don’t really have television, so I tend to watch shows after they come out on DVD (or Netflix!). As such, I’m currently addicted to Law & Order SVU – it’s a sickness. I definitely find it alarmingly awesome.
Where do you live?
Portland, OR. I love it here.
What do you do? Your job if you like it, your hobby if you prefer that.
I develop websites. I get handed a Photoshop comp and I turn that into a functional website. It’s basically what I’d be doing at home for no pay anyway, so I’m glad that someone saw fit to hire me and give me money to do it.
I have the hobbies of an 80-year-old woman – embroidery, reading, sewing.
Do you have kids?
Almost. I’m not-quite-32 weeks pregnant with my first baby. He doesn’t have a name yet and this makes me nervous. Last night he kicked every time we said “James Ingram” but I am not naming my baby James Ingram.
Are you single, married, in some long drawn-out quasi-relationship (oh how I’ve been there) or wondering if you can legally marry your cat?
Married. How boring of me, right?
What’s your favorite book?
I have a lot of them. Maybe I will name my favorite book series? Harry Potter; the His Dark Materials series; The Bartimaeus Trilogy; anything by Michael Connelly; and the Hercule Poirot novels by Agatha Christie.
February 14th, 2010 at 12:58 pm
What do you think is the most alarmingly awesome show on TV? Oh, probably Survivor. There are other shows that I find more awesome, but less alarmingly so.
Where do you live? Vancouver! And I’m loving it right now during the Olympics, it’s an awesome vibe here.
What do you do? I actually work for the Olympics. So I’ll be outta work in April but I’m enjoying it while I can.
Do you have kids? Not yet.
Are you single, married, in some long drawn-out quasi-relationship (oh how I’ve been there) or wondering if you can legally marry your cat? I have the world’s most awesome boyfriend.
What’s your favorite book? Eat, Pray, Love. Yeah, I’m a little cliche but that book came along at just the right time for me and in addition to loving the writing, the content helped me get through a breakup with my ex-fiance so it is still the book that had the biggest impact on my life.
February 14th, 2010 at 3:05 pm
What a great post! I think you know a little something about me, but here it is anyway.
- Probably my drill team uniform. Let me show you: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jenncanzo/1384770136/in/set-72157602022729989/
- Right now, Friday Night Lights. I literally catch my breath when watching it. It’s creeping up on Veronica Mars as the best show there ever was.
- In a little town about 20 minutes north of Fort Worth. Our claim to fame is this chicken place: http://www.babeschicken.com/
- I am the marketing manager for this imprint: http://www.smartpopbooks.com/.
- Kyle, he’s rad.
- I’m married, and I sometimes think the producers of Modern Family snuck into our house and based more than one couple on that show off Mike and me.
- The Girl’s Guide to Hunting and Fishing AND One Hundred Years of Solitude
- My best friend, Natalie. She knows it all and she still likes to chat with me over drinks.

I’m not sure I’ve ever worn anything truly weird. Ugly? Yes. Boring? Yup. Worn out? Hell, yes. But weird? Hard to say. There was the lavender Bonne Bell eyeshadow matched with frosted pink Cover Girl lipstick back in the 80s. I probably wore royal blue mascara. I won’t get into my eyeliner choices. Let’s call Bad Makeup my weird thing, shall we?
I live right on the Freedom Trail in Boston, near a tavern where Paul Revere probably kicked back an ale or two. My home is a 20-minute walk from cupcakes that are worth walking for, even in the middle of the coldest, windiest winter day. And I live one block away from a bar where they really do know my name. It’s the first place I’ve ever lived that feels truly like home, not a place where I live in between visits to my parents house.
As for my family, people joke around that we’re like Cleavers, or the Waltons. We like getting together for the holidays, and talk often. I think it’s great, but I’ve realized that a few people might see our closeness is intimidating. I feel bad about that.
I treasure my niece and nephew. No kids or pets of my own, but someday we’ll get a dog.
By “we,” I mean me and my sweetie. We’ve been together long enough for me to drive him nuts, and for him to embrace it. I’m his hot, younger girlfriend and that’s just how I like it.
I’m an aspiring wedding photographer. This is only interesting because if you’d asked me this question in 2008, I’d have given you some high-energy answer about engineering, software, and management. I probably would’ve used the word “synergy” with a straight face, too. The movie “Up in the Air” pretty much describes what my work life was like.
“Was” is the key word. Back in late 2008, I was laid off. I’m still a bit bitter, because I spent all of 2009 unemployed and broke, despite all that studying and education and effort and trying. Oh, the trying. People who figure out how to find their own way, make their own living – all without losing their mind – inspire me.
Since I’ve had a lot more time on my hands in the past year, I’ve had time to watch TV and wear out my library card. I prefer alarmingly awful TV. Burn Notice is pretty awful, yet I watch it anyway. My favorite awesome show these days? Nurse Jackie, on Showtime. (I’m inclined to check out Battlestar Galatica, given the responses here.)
If I had to choose between books and TV, I’d choose books. No way could I narrow it down to just one favorite. The Betsy-Tacy series by Maud Hart Lovelace are fantastic. (I just re-read them all.) I will always buy Margaret Atwood’s novels the minute they come out – hers are the only hardcovers I’ll buy. And the one book I spent years looking for just to reread one more time? The Water Boy, by Gary Reiswig. (It has nothing to do with the movie.)
Well, I certainly can ramble, can’t I?
February 14th, 2010 at 7:41 pm
Well here’s one that might interest you. I clicked over from agirlandaboy (dot) com in a fit of procrastination. I read Leah’s blog periodically because I’m a friend of her current sweetie’s ex and I think she’s a kicky writer. I have to admit, though, I really read it because I find it fascinating how she represents her life knowing how all that stuff started in real life. So there’s something: some of us know a bit and read a bit and enjoy how those things collide. All this is totally anonymous: I’m not reporting to anyone, just enjoying the collisions. Betcha have some readers like that too.

What’s the weirdest thing you ever wore outside your house? (Or inside your house for that matter.) – I don’t believe I’m gonna say this, but it dates back to my school holidays where I’d create my own world and play out my own stories. So it was ‘wild wild west’ time, and an Uncle walked in to find me walking around the house in a tee, salwar bottoms tucked into my good ole gumboots, a straw hat folded and tied back to look all cowboyish, and a toy gun. I figure I looked more like an escapee from the mental asylum!
Where do you live? – India
What do you do? Your job if you like it, your hobby if you prefer that. – Corporate finance.
Do you have kids? – Nope
Are you single, married, in some long drawn-out quasi-relationship (oh how I’ve been there) or wondering if you can legally marry your cat? – I’m thinking of buying a parrot for my old age!
What’s your favorite book?
I’d say that The Poisonwood Bible and Shantaram are somewhere on the top of my list of favourites.
P.S. Have I mentioned that I absolutely enjoy your writing?
February 14th, 2010 at 9:52 pm
Wait, there’s ANOTHER Karen????
February 15th, 2010 at 3:03 am
Although the rest of my answers are pretty boring, I thought I might score some novelty points by telling you I live in a small town close to Helsinki, Finland.
I am unmarried and without kids but in a long-term (12-year!) relationship. We also have two dogs and a cat and are considering getting a couple of rescue sheep.
The weirdest thing I’ve worn outside the house is probably a panda costume I wore to raise funds for the WWF. That was in Greenwich, London. I am a translator with my own business and home office. Looking out my window right now I can see expanses of snow several feet deep and a squirrel munching on the bird feeder.
It sounds insufferable, but I guess I have to say my favourite book is Joyce’s Ulysses. Not that I re-read it particularly often…
February 15th, 2010 at 8:41 am
Oh I love this idea! I’m going to de-lurk to answer your lovely questions.
What’s the weirdest thing you ever wore outside your house? Oh there are many many things I could choose, especially considering I spent all those years in high school on the dance team of a school whose colors were purple and white (picture lots and lots of purple spandex). I’d say it had to be en route to a twins party, my friend and I wore matching red unitards with one sleeve each. It was quite a sight.
Where do you live? Chicago, where it is too cold to do anything, ever.
What do you do? I read a lot. I eat good food, mostly in the form of carbs. I try not to drink entirely too much wine but I probably fail at that. I hate my job and that’s a depressing subject so we won’t talk about it.
Do you have kids? Nope, no thanks.
Are you single, married, in some long drawn-out quasi-relationship (oh how I’ve been there) or wondering if you can legally marry your cat? Long, drawn-out quasi-relationship with a guy that I want to marry (but whom I can’t even get to move in with me). Sigh.
What’s your favorite book? Oh there are just so many! I most love Cry the Beloved Country by Alan Paton and The Awakening by Kate Chopin.
February 15th, 2010 at 9:24 am
The only TV I watch regularly is MSNBC. I LOVE Rachel Maddow and Keith isn’t half-bad either! Otherwise I occasionally watch the Closer, House Hunters, Holmes on Homes.
I live in Columbia SC because of a man. If not for him, I would still be in downtown Charleston.
I prosecute professional & occupational licensing violations for the state of SC, which means I take licenses away from bad builders, contractors, accountants, chiropractors, cosmetologists, massage therapists, and auctioneers. Yes, auctioneers.
I’m a newlywed, just got married (for the 2nd time) on New Year’s Eve, and have no kids of my own but now have 2 grown stepkids. Yep, I married an older man!
Right now I am in LOVE with Girl with a Dragon Tattoo. I’m on approximately page 300 and have stayed up too late the last 2 nights reading.

I’ve been reading your blog for years now so I guess it’s time to come out from behind the curtain. I don’t typically comment on blogs I read because I don’t have a blog myself and I feel like it’s a one sided relationship. Anywho, here we go:
This is so humiliating but I used to have this t-shirt with a GIANT 3D eyeball poking out of the front that I would wear to high school. Could someone have warned me what a dork I looked like?
I live in sunny San Diego and I love it here.
I have a boring, low paying desk job processing payroll. Ugh. So. Bored.
I have been married going on 7 years now to the funniest man on planet Earth. He makes me laugh til it hurts almost every day which really helps our relationship last because who can stay mad at someone so hysterical?! We do not have kids.
One of my favorite books is Angela’s Ashes by Frank McCourt. I loved that book so much. After I read it I would walk around the house saying, “Oh Frankie” in a horrible Irish accent.
My older sister is my inspiration. She is so driven and so successful and I hope that some of her awesomeness will rub off on me one of these days.
I really enjoy reading your blog. You crack me up. Your thinking process is so different and I get a kick out of how you see things.

February 15th, 2010 at 12:50 pm
What’s the weirdest thing you ever wore outside your house? (Or inside your house for that matter.)
Oh there are so many…the 80′s were not good. But perhaps it would have to be the hockey jersey, skirt, hockey socks and heels…..I lost a bet I did not dress in the dark.
Where do you live?
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
What do you do? Your job if you like it, your hobby if you prefer that.
I work in telecommunications. I love it, it’s a job that changes all the time!
Do you have kids?
I have a daughter (10) and a step-son-to-be (19)
Are you single, married, in some long drawn-out quasi-relationship (oh how I’ve been there) or wondering if you can legally marry your cat?
Divorced and now engaged.
What’s your favorite book?
I read all the time….I could never pick just one
Who’s one of the people who inspired you to become the person you are?
My Gran. She lived to 103 with all her faculties, took her last international vacation at 95 and once told me that no body can ever make you feel bad without your permission. She was an awesome lady
February 15th, 2010 at 4:12 pm
What’s the weirdest thing you ever wore outside your house? (Or inside your house for that matter.)
Erm, probably something for Halloween, so that hardly counts.
What do you think is the most alarmingly awesome show on TV?
I’m not much of an emotional slut but I am a huge TV slut. Some absolute all-time favorites are Twin Peaks, Firefly, and Arrested Development. (And yes, I am clearly the kiss of death for TV shows.)
Where do you live?
San Francisco!
What do you do? Your job if you like it, your hobby if you prefer that.
Librarian. TV watcher.
Do you have kids?
No. Definitely no.
Are you single, married, in some long drawn-out quasi-relationship (oh how I’ve been there) or wondering if you can legally marry your cat?
Absurdly single, with cat.
What’s your favorite book?
Infinite Jest. Thinking about DFW still causes me to tear up.
Who’s one of the people who inspired you to become the person you are?
Hmm. Probably my Mom.
February 15th, 2010 at 10:42 pm
I need to talk about this miracle drink real quick – The suggestion came just in time, and I’m testing it out against a cold. It definitely makes me feel better! In fact, after the first gulp, I stop worrying about mixing the aspirin with the booze. By the end of the drink, I’m feeling better about things in general. I didn’t have any lemon – and two trips to the grocery store in my gray hooded sweatshirt (with kangaroo pocket) was out of the question. It didn’t seem to be a deal breaker, though, I just added more ginger and brandy. So it’s definitely a flexible recipe, but I’d like to know, how should one make it?
Also, Whisper of the River. And I don’t even like cats.
February 16th, 2010 at 10:16 am
Who are you and what do you do with your time?
I’m Audrey. I spend most of my time either reading, cooking, watching tv via dvds/downloads or carousing with my friends.
What do you think is the most alarmingly awesome show on TV?
I’m with most on here, in that I watch tv shows after they have aired.
I’m currently infatuated with Slings and Arrows. A Canadian tv show about a theatre troupe. its much more entertaining than I make it sound. I will also second the love for Battlestar Galactica/Veronica Mars/Firefly.
Currently still on? Mad Men.
Where do you live?
Indianapolis, IN.
What do you do? Your job if you like it, your hobby if you prefer that.
I work for a women’s health company and have recently started doing sales. I never thought of myself as a sales type, but lo! I am.
Do you have kids?
Just the kitteh – Toaster.
Are you single, married, in some long drawn-out quasi-relationship (oh how I’ve been there) or wondering if you can legally marry your cat?
Just got out of the long drawn-out quasi-relationship. Thankfully, so now I’m living it up single style.
What’s your favorite book?
Frankie, its by… I don’t even remember. Its as old as I am and about griffins and a magical family. Now i have to go look up the author.
Other than that – I read like a fiend so I more so have favorite genres…
Who’s one of the people who inspired you to become the person you are?
My fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Woodyard for encouraging my love of books and individuality and my grandmother who passed 4 years ago this last week.
February 16th, 2010 at 1:24 pm
Hello! I’m a lurker who’s a big fan of your blog. I live in Montreal, recently married, but have no kids. I’m an accountant, but my real thing is writing. It just doesn’t pay the bills yet, sigh. And I have too many favourite books, but I wish more people (outside of Canada) gave Canadian authors a chance (writers like Lisa Moore, Michael Winter and… oof, tons more).
February 16th, 2010 at 2:12 pm
I live in Columbus, Ohio, married last fall, no kids. I’m a technical editor for science journals and am going to grad school part time for marketing & communications. On the side, I love to plan events/throw parties, and a lot of my volunteer experiences and board memberships involve doing just that. It makes it easier to come to my boring as hell job and not want to bash my brains out.
My husband and I just started watching this new show Spartacus. It’s on Starz but is already streaming on Netflix. It is a combination of 300, Gladiator, and the HBO series Rome. It is not the best show ever or anything, but it IS full of lots of gratuitous full-frontal-nudity sex and hilariously overdone blood-spurting graphics. Highly entertaining.
February 16th, 2010 at 2:29 pm
Well, I am stealing this idea from you! Look at your comments!
My name is Luka. I live on the second floor. I live upstairs from you. I think you may have seen me before?
Also, I used to get SO nervous about meeting other bloggers (and I still do at large gatherings, ie BlogHer) but I’m much better about meeting them now because of everything you said. We probably have something in common, we’ve probably had an email conversation so I know you’re not crazy and who can’t use more friends? The internet has given me some of the best friends a girl could ask for!
February 16th, 2010 at 6:34 pm
Leah from San Francisco, semi-long-time reader, first-time commenter. I work in the glamorous world of insurance, in which the actual work sucks, but my company rocks and makes it almost worthwhile. I’m married with no kids, and came to your blog through nothingbutbonfires, which I came to through Evany, who I know in real life. I’ve stated numerous times that I don’t just love Friday Night Lights- I’m “in love” with it, and would like to have, like, a thousand of its babies. Mad Men is a close second. Pretty much everything that’s good in my life has come to me via the internet-husband (not a mail-order dealy-we just met online way back in early 2004 when people still thought online dating was reserved solely for social lepers and hunchbacks, or at least it felt that way at the time, which is why we told people we met when “he pulled me from the wreckage of a car-crash” for a long time) , job, apartment, some close friends, my trainer, my dog and my Kate Spade handbag which I got through a sample sale. I’m down to go to the theater with you any night if we can also go to Smuggler’s Cove beforehand.
February 17th, 2010 at 8:24 am
Delurking because I love your site, and I’m trying to become better at commenting (and this is an easy way to ease into commenting …)
What’s the weirdest thing you ever wore outside your house? (Or inside your house for that matter.) — my high school band uniform.
Where do you live? — Northern Colorado
What do you do? Your job if you like it, your hobby if you prefer that. — I’m a librarian at a university
Do you have kids? — an 11 month old son
What’s your favorite book? — It totally depends on what mood I’m in, but today I’m going with A Swiftly Tilting Planet by Madeleine L’Engle
February 17th, 2010 at 9:26 am
I’m Carly, currently living in Boston with my beloved (oh so creepily beloved) dog, Bailey. I have a man in my life, we are debating the seriousness of our future, and he and Bailey are working out their mutual jealousy issues.
I am a birthday junky and am probably weirdest when I walk the streets during daylight hours wearing a fuzzy and/or sparkly tiara around my birthday every year. This includes routine dog walks because what improves picking up poop more than a tiara??
I have no kids (BAILEY) and probably don’t plan on it. I work in Human Resources but am not an ambitious sort of person, more of a pay-my-bills-then-go-drink-wine sort of person.
Favorite book is tough but I love anything written by Margaret Atwood, David Sedaris, Augusten Burroughs, anything either funny, well-written, or both; my favorite thing about my current apartment is all the built-in bookshelves.
Thanks for asking!
February 17th, 2010 at 2:39 pm
How thoughtful of you to ask all of us invisible computer people
1) A tiered, denim, neon paint splattered skirt OVER black spandex bike shorts with a neon stripe down the side. Shoo 90s fashions, go away!
2) Modern Family. Or Glee. Or West Wing. Or Designing Women. Wait, Frasier!
3) Michigan, where it is 20 some odd degrees and I haven’t worn pretty shoes since Christmas.
4) An analyst. With numbers. And Access. And more often than not, I believe the program has a mind of it’s own and tries to thwart me just for kicks.
5) Nope.
6) Some long drawn-out quasi-relationship. 8+ years, a called off wedding, an affair, 2 cats, one rent….anxiety attacks. Oops.
7) When I have the stamina Outlander and Dragonfly in Amber (hey, it’s you!) back to back. When I don’t… Must Love Mistletoe. My ultimate comfort book that I read in some form or fashion at least 8 times last year.
And what’s the oddest thing you’ve ever worn?
February 17th, 2010 at 8:05 pm
A decorated cardboard box that was ment to look like a tide box, for a dance competition.
Glee and Grey’s
Just outside of Vancouver, BC where the Olympics are currently happening and it is awesome.
Stay at home mom.
So, yes two boys.
Married for almost ten years.
Gosh, almost every book everyone above me mentioned. Love reading.
February 18th, 2010 at 3:34 am
Have a bit of free time to kill due to the General Malaise That Has Seemingly Struck Everyone I Know, so here goes:
1) What’s the weirdest thing you ever wore outside your house? (Or inside your house for that matter.)
I’ve worn some odd things. More odd than two hats. I wore a pirate island at one point (I was inside the VOLCANO in the middle).
2) What do you think is the most alarmingly awesome show on TV?
The most incredibly awesome show on TV is The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. I will fight anyone who says otherwise. But Battlestar Galactica is a close second.
3) Where do you live?
The Cruz, bra.
4) What do you do? Your job if you like it, your hobby if you prefer that.
Photography and web design. In my spare time, I punch owls. STOP ASKING ME QUESTIONS, OWLS.
5) Do you have kids?
Nope. I have a rat named Biscuit, though. She likes peanuts. I think that makes her almost a kid.
6) Are you single, married, in some long drawn-out quasi-relationship (oh how I’ve been there) or wondering if you can legally marry your cat?
Divorced, went from one VERY long distance relationship (east coast) to a quasi-long distance relationship (San Jose). One of these days I’ll have a girlfriend within easy driving distance…
7) What’s your favorite book?
I could not possibly answer this question. There isn’t enough time.
I try to learn a little something from everyone I feel close to. That probably makes me a patchwork of idiosyncrasies, but it seems to have worked out so far.
9) Have you ever played “Vole or Shrew”?
Yes. Voles all the way.
10) Favorite Che Guevara?
Mandy Patinkin
February 18th, 2010 at 6:46 am
Hey – yet another lurker checking in…
What’s the weirdest thing you ever wore outside your house? (Or inside your house for that matter.)
- A plaid skirt, kickers (ankle boots) with knee high socks, a crass (punk band t-shirt) and a legalise cannabis badge – wouldn’t have been so bad but we were vising St. Paul’s Cathedral!
What do you think is the most alarmingly awesome show on TV?
- Firefly, The West Wing, Spaced – I guess that should be what was the most alarmingly awesome show…
Where do you live?
- I come from London but currently live out of my backpack as travelling for 18 months or so…
What do you do? Your job if you like it, your hobby if you prefer that.
- I’m a nanny and a travelholic.
Do you have kids?
- Nope – just love other peoples!
Are you single, married, in some long drawn-out quasi-relationship (oh how I’ve been there) or wondering if you can legally marry your cat?
- Married.
What’s your favorite book?
- Persuasion, Jane Austen
Who’s one of the people who inspired you to become the person you are?
- My mum and the amazing women I’ve met on the road.
February 18th, 2010 at 8:03 am
What’s the weirdest thing you ever wore outside your house? (Or inside your house for that matter.)
I think the 80s pretty much took care of the weird clothing category. Anything more recent I have buried in the deepest darkest corners of my memory.
What do you think is the most alarmingly awesome show on TV?
Paris Hilton’s international search for a new BFF – even on repeats it’s scarily addictive.
And Vampire Diaries – someone really needs to remind me that I’m not 17.
Where do you live?
London, UK (From Sydney, Australia via Northern England and LA)
What do you do? Your job if you like it, your hobby if you prefer that.
I like to think of myself as the office deity – all-seeing, all-knowing, all capable of crushing your dreams in a single blow. When I think of it like that it’s definitely a hobby.
Do you have kids?
Not yet. I steal other people’s children whenever possible.
Are you single, married, in some long drawn-out quasi-relationship (oh how I’ve been there) or wondering if you can legally marry your cat?
Single. Should probably invest in a cat.
What’s your favorite book?
I’m indecisive. My standard answer is Northanger Abbey.
But if you’re really curious I also love the Gormeghast Trilogy, His Dark Materials, Briar Rose, The Circle, We need to talk about Kevin … I could go on for a while …
Who’s one of the people who inspired you to become the person you are?
My parents. They count as one awe-inspiring entity, and I blame them completely for my inability to hold down a grown-up relationship … as well as my OCD tendancies, my overwhelming love of food in general, and my indecisiveness.
February 18th, 2010 at 11:11 am
The weirdest thing I ever wore outside my house was an all-paper outfit my Olympics of the Mind team made in the 8th grade. As I recall, it had an oaktag bodice and tissue paper skirt, and was supposed to be what we imagined aliens would wear if we visited their planet. I was the one who wore it on stage the day of competition and I believe I performed some sort of choreographed routine for how we thought the aliens would welcome us. We did not win.
I don’t have a tv and just get full seasons of stuff from netflix, so I’m always a little behind. I love Mad Men, miss Veronica Mars, early X-Files and Buffy, and am working my way through BSG and How I Met Your Mother.
I live in Brooklyn, work as an editor on a magazine for romance novel and other genre fiction enthusiasts, and like making stuff: knitting, spinning yarn, cooking, embroidering, sewing (at which I am decidedly mediocre, but committed to getting better), hiking, yoga, and any sort of amateur-hour science-y stuff (i.e., I love reading that some slugs have developed the ability to jump to avoid predators, but have no interest in the mechanics of how that all happened).
No kids, quite single — happily so, but not so happily that I’m not looking
Favorite book: impossible to pick, but two that I love are West With the Night by Beryl Markham (memoir by female bush pilot in 1930s Kenya) and The Likeness by Tana French (outstandingly fantastic Irish mystery)
February 18th, 2010 at 11:26 am
I am loving these comments, so I thought I should also contribute!
Weirdest thing I ever wore: I was the high school mascot my sophmore year in hs, so I got to wear a very stylish falcon costume to all the games, complete with big bulky head. I had bruised shoulders for a whole school year.
Most alarmingly awesome show: Friday Night Lights-I cannot wait for April 30th!
Live in Anchorage, AK
No job right now, stay at home mom, and really trying to think of what I would like to do for the rest of my life.
Kids-one lovely daughter
Married, in fact today is our anniversary!
Favorite book: This is really a tough one, I love to read more than just about anything. I guess if I had to pick one book, that I know I could read over and over, it is The Shell Seekers by Rosamunde Pilcher. This book got me started on my love of British authors, and has made a lot of money for amazon.co.uk.
Someone who inspired me: This is kind of a hero worship thing, but I loved Jacques Cousteau when I was growing up.
February 18th, 2010 at 1:14 pm
- Today I wore flip flops to pick my daughter up from preschool. This wouldn’t be interesting except there is still about six inches of snow on the ground here and flip flops aren’t always the most appropriate foot wear to contend with snow. I wore them because I’m optomistic that someday spring will return and I can stop crying every time I look out the window.
- Oi, my geek is going to show, but I LOVE the NatGeo channel and the History channel. I’m a big fan of Locked Up Abroad and Taboo.
- St Lou, Mo for the time being.
- I don’t. I don’t work and I don’t really have any hobbies. It sounds so lame to say that but I’m a married college student with two small children. My life? Is lame.
- I have two little dumplings of happiness that were dropped on our doorstep about 18 months ago when their biological mother said “Ehhh…f this…” This relates to the emotionally slutty thing because I can never leave it as “I have two kids at age 23″ for fear of people thinking I’m actually really slutty. I always have to explain it away, that these kids did not in fact burst forth from my loins (also? Me and The Husband are white, child A is biracial, child B is tri racial, so it’s complicated) and I did not in fact have two kids in two years with two different men before marrying my husband. I need to get a handle on that before my kids realize what I’m doing. Either that or start saving for the therapy bills now.
- I’ve been married for four years. We met, dated for a couple months, said screw it and got hitched. Probably not the most intelligent thing for a 19 year old girl to do, but it’s worked out really well for me. Still, I’d lock my kids in a closet if they ever tried to pull that.
- My favorite book since I was but a wee whippersnapper has been A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. Some people have comfort foods, that’s my comfort book. I love it.
- Me, age 13-16. I traveled a lot during high school without my parents, going to places like Haiti and Brazil. I think it was the naive spirit of youth, believing that nothing bad could happen to me and that I would be safe. I’m not sure where I lost that fearlessness but I did and I’m working to regain it. My experiences traveling have shaped who I am but my memory of who I was is shaping who I hope to become.
February 18th, 2010 at 1:23 pm
Oh, you people are awesome. I’m loving this. And I bet I’m going to find a lot of new blogs to read, which is somewhat horrifying, given my Google Reader keeps shouting that I have 1000+ new posts to read.
I’m going to try to answer as many of these as I can. [Girds loins.] Let’s see how I do.
February 18th, 2010 at 8:45 pm
Hi, maybe a little too fashionably late to this party, but I’ll delurk myself anyways.
I once spent a day wearing mickey mouse ears both in and out the house, I was trying to embarrass my mom. It worked. I was 13 and annoying.
I’m in DC right now. Originally from Livermore, CA where my mom still lives, so I make it back to the west coast often. I’m moving to Delaware, Del-a-where? yes, Delaware! My boyfriend and I have been dating for years long distance and we are taking the plunge and seeing how things work when we live in the same area code. I’m excited, its going to be fun, but having to shave my legs during the week (especially in the winter!) is sort of a bummer to this living together thing.
I’m obsessed with LOST, yeah those TV peeps hooked me. Hard to pick a favorite book, there are so many! I always enjoy rereading Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass.
Love your blog and your writing, your wit always makes me laugh!
February 24th, 2010 at 6:38 pm
I’m a little behind on this one but I’ll just blame the baby.
Well, I was homeschooled until 7th grade and I wore a lot of ugly things but I’ll blame the 90′s for that one.
I live in Colorado, in a small town that I have been trying to get out of for years and I just keep coming back. I have dreams of moving to Ohio or London.
I’m in the midst of a quasi-relationship as the father of my son cannot figure out how to be a man and I do not think laying in bed all day is a good way of solving that problem.
I’m obsessed with Glee and I understand how this makes me sound like I’m 13.
I don’t have a job yet, since I was a stay at home mom but I will be looking for one soon. Probably substitute teaching until summer, then going back to school to get my certificate to teach.
I have one baby and he’s 18 months and awesome. It’s the best thing I have ever done.
I love the Time traveler’s wife. But I hated the movie.
February 24th, 2010 at 7:44 pm
Oooh – I hate I’ve been away – I inexplicably love things like this (I guess I’m emotionally slutty too). So even though I’m late, I’m going for it. I’m not reading anyone’s comments first though, I don’t want my answers to be tainted.
What’s the weirdest thing you ever wore outside your house? (Or inside your house for that matter.) Bikini’s “back in the day”. I can’t imagine being in one now – oh how the body changes after kids. Though there’s got to be something weirder than that….togas – do they count?
What do you think is the most alarmingly awesome show on TV?
Where do you live? Charleston, SC
What do you do? Your job if you like it, your hobby if you prefer that. I am a Mom. And I love it. I am getting ready to go back to work but I already dread that I may not find something that will let me be with my children after school.
Do you have kids? Girl – 11, Boy – 9. Both smart and funny. And cute if I should say so myself – being a biased Mom.
Are you single, married, in some long drawn-out quasi-relationship (oh how I’ve been there) or wondering if you can legally marry your cat? Married for 15 years. We met when I was almost 18 and got married 7 1/2 years later.
What’s your favorite book? I don’t know if I have one FAVORITE (I don’t want to count 1 Fish, 2 Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish). But, I LOVED “Water For Elephants”, “The Secret Life of Bees”, “The Shack”, “To Kill a Mockingbird, and I just finished reading “The Help” and right before that “Twilight”. I like them all! Oooh – and things by Dan Brown and about Kay Scarpetta are always great.
Who’s one of the people who inspired you to become the person you are? My Mom
March 1st, 2010 at 7:18 am
Another lurker coming out of the woodwork, which I probably should have a while ago. Love this blog, btw.
What’s the weirdest thing you ever wore outside your house? (Or inside your house for that matter.)
A gorilla costume, multiple times.
What do you think is the most alarmingly awesome show on TV?
The Wire. Okay, it’s not on TV anymore. But nothing that is even comes close.
Where do you live?
Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
What do you do? Your job if you like it, your hobby if you prefer that.
I quit my corporate world job of eight years to go back to school to become a Veterinary Technician. I’m eight weeks away from being done! I work part-time at an dog obedience school as a trainer, and part-time at a vet clinic as a vet assistant. In my spare time (as if I ever have any) I read, write, go on bad internet dates, check out live music, and assume the role of psychologist and advice giver to my friends.
Do you have kids?
Nope, just the furry kind. I live with the two neediest animals ever, a giant orange and white tabby, and an old mutt.
Are you single, married, in some long drawn-out quasi-relationship (oh how I’ve been there) or wondering if you can legally marry your cat?
Single. I’m beginning to think my dog is my soulmate. Sigh.
What’s your favorite book?
A Prayer for Owen Meany, by John Irving
Who’s one of the people who inspired you to become the person you are?
You know what? I have absolutely no idea.
March 3rd, 2010 at 1:09 pm
So totally emotionally slutty, here! They ask, I answer and then they run for the freaking hills. (referring to when I was dating, why do they ask, I wonder?)
Weirdest thing? I am a child of the 80′s so that is a highly subjective question. I wore a lot of weird, neon, color-changing shit, but given that, I would have to say: boxers and a t-shirt with no bra or panties TO SCHOOL. I was so thoroughly sunburned that anything else touching me made me want to cry.
Alarmingly Awesome TV Show? I will not say, because I am a person that loves things that get canceled.
Where do I live? The armpit of Tx aka Houston
Hobby? Photography, cooking, general craftiness
Kids? One. Sprog, teenager of doom, about to turn 15, get his learner’s permit and make me completely gray.
Relationship status? Married. My second, his first, 5 years come June.
Favorite book? I have an inability to pick a favorite of anything. Seriously. I have to have like 5 or six, at least and that’s with other things, books it would be nearly impossible. I collect children’s books and pop-up books if that helps anything.
Person that molded me into me? Hmmm. This is a tapestry of different bits and pieces from people I like and a whole lot of not wanting to be my parents.
March 13th, 2010 at 1:14 pm
Just plain slutty, here.
Awesome tv show? Californication. (see above)
Where do I live? Sunny Southern California.
Job/Hobby? Job: Public school teacher. Hobby: photography, eating cupcakes.
KIds: None, and don’t want to give birth or adopt.
Relationship status? Single (again, see above).
Favorite book? Please don’t make me choose just one. Uhhh, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, Caramelo, America the Beautiful, The Color Purple…
Person who inspired you to be the person you are? Several of my high school teachers were instrumental in inspiring me to be me.
