Next Time You See a Squirrel, Give It a Stern Talking To
Posted by Moose on December 4th, 2008. Filed under: Adventures.Thank you all for your kind inquiries about what the hell happened to my blog and why it displayed a string of gibberish for a week. The only explanation I can offer is that it was hijacked by bored squirrels who relinquished control only when offered a sacrifice in the form of flaming acorns.
I had to rely on the kindness of friends much smarter than I to sort out the mess, which was also fraught with uncertainty because discussing the inner workings of blogs is like trying to explain the mechanics of theoretical physics in Spanish when the only two words I know are “si” and “burrito.” And also because I seem to think people can read my mind.
Note to self: People can’t read your mind.
Addendum to note: Why can’t people read my mind? I’M THINKING REALLY HARD OVER HERE.
Here’s a post that went up elsewhere while the acorn-famished squirrels were holding my blog hostage: Towels. Also a really bad video of my apartment.
Hi, everyone. It’s nice to be back.

“Oh, there you are Peter!”
(Which is a hopefully not too obscure reference to the movie “Hook,” which I happen to somewhat love, and if you have never the scene to which I am referring I am going to find it for you to watch, amen. Welcome! back.)

I would have mourned your absence much more had I not seen you twice in the past week and, thus, known what you were up to =)
However, welcome back anyhow!
And Kerri Anne, I loooove that movie!

Evil squirrels are always to blame. There’s a good reason my sister is terrified of them. It’s part of why she picked College A over College B–less squirrels on campus. I kid you not.
Glad you got it all sorted out. And good luck with the mind reading thing! I think it’s them, not you.

I loved this happy tour of your home and I’m so glad you got some loot!
But what is with the squirrel bashing? I LIKE squirrels! They’re so mischievous and chatter-y.

Blog troubles give me nausea. I’ll keep my eyes out for those pesky squirrels

I assumed your blog was too full from the double Thanksgiving action to properly display itself. Even blogs need a break.

Oh, thank goodness! I have been anxiously checking that string of strange code every day, because GAPING HOLE IN MY DAILY BLAWWWWGS LIFE CANNOT CONTINUE ABORT ABORT!
In sum, glad you’re back.

Welcome back, Moosie!
Every day. Click link. Blank page. Long sigh.
Repeat.
Now, of course, we expect Big Things! Like how to cook a 12-lb turkey in a pie tin.
Can’t wait!
