The Dog Requests a Paw-Touch Treat Dispenser

After several years, a new foundation, a new frame and an electricity rewire, our house passed final inspection today. I had nothing to do with any of this. All I did was note that I didn’t like the shade of yellow in the kitchen and could we repaint it please? Translation: You repaint it while I put my feet up and buff my nails. I’m still not thrilled with the yellow but strongly suspect that any further griping on the matter will result in being handed a roller and a can of paint. Which I would stare at blankly while muttering something about not caring that much.

Yes, I’m a charmer. Luckily, I make good cookies. And have, on special occasions, been known to clean the bathroom. Otherwise, I’d probably find myself on the front stoop clutching a dufflebag and paint samples while the door slams in my face.

Sign off on final inspection is exciting, because now we (and by “we” I mean “not me”) can concentrate on the really important things. Like fixing the sad, half-stripped trim and buying a couch so I don’t have to install myself on the kitchen floor with my book and a pillow while the dog licks my ear and nudges the bag of treats toward my hand.

And we’re totally installing a helopad.
